Trekking Sapa in September

Located about 350km Northwest of Hanoi, Sapa is a town in Lao Cai Province in Northwest Vietnam. This small, quiet town is home to different ethnic groups such as the Hmong, Dao, Tay, Giay and Xa Pho.

The most popular mean of transport people used to take to travel from Hanoi to Sapa is to take an overnight train leaving from Hanoi train station at about 20:00pm and arriving in Laocai train station at about 6:00 am the following day.

Another option is to hire a private vehicle from Hanoi and travel to Sapa. The road transfer from Hanoi to Sapa taking about 8 hours offers beautiful scenery you have the opportunity to enjoy along the way.

If you combine Sapa with Bien Bien Phu for example you can fly to Dien Bien Phu and from then hire a car to get to Sapa.

Sapa is the most popular place for trekking in Vietnam since the area offers the wild beauty, beautiful landscapes, terrace rice fields and rich in ethnic traditions. Most of travelers coming to Sapa to do a trek and to spend a night at a local house (homestay). Those who don’t have much time can do a day trek that take them to nearby villages such as Cat Cat village, Ta Phi village, Ta Van village, Lao Chai village, Su Pan village.
