Trek Fansipan

Mount Fansipan is Vietnam’s highest peak located in the far north just outside of Sapa. Mt. Fansipan a very steep mountain that gets a lot of moisture. Those looking to climb it should be in good shape and prepared to to have muddy wet feet The scenery is incredible remember to bring a camera. The temperature in the mountain often 10 degree colder than in Sapa, make sure to bring enough warm cloth, thick gloves for the winter time.

It is very hard to do the Fansipan trek there on your own, Because you have to bring your needed things, Sometimes the National park does not  allow you to go without a organized trip by a travel company. One of the licensed travel company in Sapa is Lotussia Travel, they arrange private customized Fansipan treks.

You will be picked up by your vehicle again and transferred back to Sapa town.

The three-day hiking tour is more challenging. There is no support  vehicle. You begin your adventure from Sapa town, hiking through H’mong villages before entering the Hoang Lien National Park. You will reach the summit on the second day. After reaching the top, you trek back towards Sapa town taking another hiking trail. You arrive back Sapa town on third day.

The four-day tour is arranged with another hiking trails sneaking through local Black H’mong and Red Dzao villages. You also spend two night in camping tent before you get to the summit of the Indochina. 

The best time to conquer the Fansipan mountain is the dry season starting from October until April the following year. January is therefore foggy in Sapa.

Today’s trek will continue as soon as you finish breakfast. You trek deep into the mountains and wild nature. By noon, you spend some times for lunch.

In  the afternoon, you ascend  toward  the peak of 2900m ASL before descending  to  the  campsite, which  locates  at 2600m ASL. Here  you  spend  another  night  in  tent  before  climbing  to  the  top  of Fansipan.

Day 3: 2006m – the top of Fansipan – 2900m (B,L,D)

Today you head to  the  top of Fasipan, which is  the highest peak of Indochina. You get  to  the top after a couple of hours of ascending. Here you can enjoy  the best view  to beautiful sceneries and celebrate your victory. You will then descend to a nice spot for lunch.

After having lunch, you descend again until you arrive in the campsite, which locates at 2900m ASL. Here your last night in the mountain will be spent in tents. 

Day 4: 2900m – Tram Ton – Sapa (B,L)

Fansipan mountain trek will be soft compaired to the others.  After putting down the tents, you start descending the mountains. You will follow trail and steps built of stone by Hoang Lien National Park. You stop for lunch before heading out the mountains.

You arrive in Tram Ton in the early afternoon. Here you get on the car on the journey back to Sapa after the big loop in the mountains. End of Lotussia Travel service.

After breakfast, travel by car toward the Silver Waterfall where you will be able to take a short walk to the waterfall. You will then drive further to Heaven Gate, the highest peak of roads in Vietnam. From there you can see Fansipan, the highest peak of Indochina mountains as well as enjoy stunning views. The Fansipan mountain trek will be relatively soft until lunchtime. After a couple of hours of hiking, you will have a break at a nice spot in the forest and enjoy a good lunch. 

With new energy you start ascending as well as descending towards the campsite. En route you have many opportunities to enjoy the scenery and magnificent views to Sapa area and beautiful landscape of Lai Chau province. 

You will arrive to the campsite at 2900m ASL in the late afternoon. Now it is time to relax and enjoy a well prepared dinner.

Day 3: Continue trekking. Reach the summit. Trek back down (B,L,D).

After having breakfast, you climb to the top, where you can celebrate your victory. From there, you can enjoy the best view to beautiful sceneries. You will then start descending. 

You stop on the way at a nice spot for lunch. 

After lunch, you start the challenging Fansipan hike, which is all the way downhill through rainforest. This part requires a great concentration to step on steep trail until you meet the campsite at 2700m ASL. Here you spend another night in tent.

Day 4: Trek back to Sapa. Overnight train back to Hanoi (B,L).

You wake up in the fresh and pure morning in wild nature, before heading back to civilization. You Fansipan trek downhill through well-protected forest and after two hours of hiking, you stop for lunch. You will then continue descending toward Sin Chai village of Back Hmong minority. On the way you will be able to enjoy valley views and beautiful surrounding. You stop at the village for a while before you go by car back to Sapa, where you can have a short rest before travelling to Lao Cai to take overnight train back to Hanoi.

Mai Chau Outdoor Treks 7 Days


Day 1: Ha Noi - Hoa Binh Province.

7:00 AM: You will be met up with Lotussia Travel team at your hotel in Hanoi. Depart by road to Hoa Binh Province, 75 km. North West of Ha Noi and home to a number of hill tribes and other ethnic minorities including Thai and Muong. 4-hour trekking along Hoa Binh reservoir to visit the Muong villages. Dinner and enjoy a traditional Muong and Drum concert. Overnight in Hoa Binh. ( 4 hours trekking)

Day 2: Mai Chau Trek

Drive to Xa Linh ( 90 km). 1-hour jungles trek before lunch. Afternoon trek to Hang Kia and overnight in a H’Mong village. ( 5 hours trekking)

Day 3: Mai Chau Trek

Continue trekking to Tau Na and stop for picnic lunch. In the afternoon climb a high pass to Cun Pheo and overnight in a Muong village. (7- 8 hours trekking)

Day 4: Mai Chau Trek

In the morning trek to Sam Khoe village and after lunch trek around villages to discover ordinary day life of white Thai people. In the evening enjoy lovely songs perform by Thai children. Overnight in Thai village. ( 7 hours trekking)

Day 5: Trekking and bamboo rafting

Continue trek to Van Mai . In the afternoon take 2-hours bamboo rafting on Suoi Sia stream. Overnight in a Thai village. ( 5 hours trekking)

Day 6: Mai Chau trek

In the morning trek to Pom Coong village. After lunch trek around villages to discover how local people weaving materials. Overnight in Thai village.

Day 7: Mai Chau - Ha Noi.

In the morning transfer to Ha Noi. End the tour.

Mai Chau Hiking Tour 6 Days


Day 1: Arrive Hanoi.

Upon arrival at Noi Bai airport in Hanoi via Flight???, you will be greeted by Lotussia Travel guide, driver then escorted to your hotel in town. 

The rest of the day is free at leisure. 

Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi – Mai Chau – Hang Kia village.

We leave Hanoi heading west to Hoa Binh Province. We climb towards the Mai Chau valley another two hours away stopping to take in the spectacular scenery. 

Following lunch in Mai Chau town we drive to the White Thai village of Xa Linh where we start a 2-hour trek to Hang Kia village. Our hosts this evening will be the H’mong people. Whilst enjoying their hospitality we learn a little about their way of life. 

Tonight’s accommodation will be basic although mattresses, bedding and mosquito nets are provided.

Day 3: Hang Kia – Van village.

This morning we have a 4-5 hour trek to Van village is home of the White Thai people. The trek takes us through unforgettable scenery and provides us with an opportunity to witness the authentic rural life. 

Arriving in Van village by mid to late afternoon there will be time to take a short walk around the village. 

Our hosts for this evening will treat us to a fine meal and stories of life in Van village.

Day 4: Van village – Xo village.

We spend the morning strolling around the surrounding villages. We then return to Van for lunch. After lunch, stroll down to the river (if weather permit) before embarking on a 3hour walk to the village of Xo. 

Dinner and overnight in Xo village.

Day 5: Xo village – Poong Coong village – Hanoi.

Bidding farewell to our hosts we have a five-hour trek to Poong Cong village. Lunch will be provided in a local stilt house.

After lunch, we will drive back to Hanoi

Arrive Hanoi around late afternoon. Check-in hotel and overnight in Hanoi.

Day 6: Departure.

Free at leisure until transfer to Hanoi airport for your onward flight back home. Flight???. End trip.

Hiking Mai Chau Nature Place 4 Days


Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau – Hang Kia village.

7:00 AM: you will be met up with Lotussia Travel team at your hotel in Hanoi. We leave Hanoi heading west to Hoa Binh Province. We climb towards the Mai Chau valley another two hours away stopping to take in the spectacular scenery. 

Following lunch in Mai Chau town we drive to the White Thai village of Xa Linh where we start a 2-hour trek to the village of Hang Kia. Our hosts this evening will be the H’mong people. Whilst enjoying their hospitality we learn a little about their way of life.

We spend the morning strolling around the surrounding villages. We then return to Van for lunch. After lunch, stroll down to the river (if weather permit) before embarking on a 3hour trek to the village of Xo

Dinner and overnight in Xo village.

Day 4: Xo village – Poong Coong village – Hanoi.

Bidding farewell to our hosts we have a five-hour trek to Poong Cong village. Lunch will be provided in a local stilt house.

After lunch, we will drive back to Hanoi. 

Arrive Hanoi around late afternoon. Check-in hotel and overnight in Hanoi.

Hanoi Mai Chau Valley Trek 3 Days


Day 1: Ha Noi - Hoa Binh - Mai Chau (150km)

Depart from Hanoi to Mai Chau at 7h 30 via Hoa Binh Hydro-electricity. Arrive in Mai Chau about 12.00. Have lunch. After lunch start to trek Mai Chau discovering Lac village, Pom Coong village - the typical ethnic people of Mai Chau. Dinner at 19h00. Overnight in Lac village.

Day 2: Mai Chau - Ma River (20 km)

Breakfast at 7.30 AM. Trekking to Van Mai village. Lunch in Van Mai. Afternoon transfer to Co Luong ( 20 km) and go for a row on the river by motor - boat with stop-over at En village (Thai people). Return to Co Luong at 18:00 PM. Bus back to Mai Chau. Dinner at 19.00 and enjoy traditional music show. Overnight in Ban Lac village.

Day 3: Mai Chau - Xa Linh - Ha Noi

AM: Have breakfast at 7.00 AM then go to Xa Linh (35 km from Mai Chau) where H'Mong people stay. Trek to Pa Co village to visit black H'Mong. Back to Mai Chau at 12.00PM. Lunch. Return to Ha Noi at 14.00. Arrive in Ha Noi at 18.00.

Mai Chau Adventures Tour Hiking Hang Kia Van Khoe Villages


Day 1: Hanoi - Hoa Binh - Mai Chau – Hang Kia Village (L,D)

7:00: You will be met up with Lotussia Travel team at your hotel in Hanoi. Depart Hanoi for Hoa Binh province and the town of Mai Chau. This scenic drive takes around three hours. Along the way we pass fields of tapioca and sugar cane as well as rice paddies. After lunch in a traditional stilt house of the Thai people, we drive for one hour to Sa Linh Village where we start the Mai Chau trek. Today we walk along gravel tracks and small paths, used by the locals. Our destination for this evening is Hang Kia village, home of the H’mong Minority people. Here we stay overnight as the guests of an H'mong family in a traditional long house, situated in a picturesque valley of peach orchards.

Day 2: Hang Kia Village – Van Village (B,L,D)

Today we trek through tropical rain forest, using the local tracks and passing through cornfields as we descend in to Mai Chau Valley. The trek usually takes around 7 hours and is quite steep in places. Lunch will be provided en route. We arrive at Van village by late afternoon and will have time to walk around this charming little village, enabling us to understand a little more about how the people live. The village is home to the White Thai people, and tonight we will be their guests in one of their traditional stilt houses. There, we will be toasted as honored guests and will be able to sample some of their homemade rice wine!

Day 3: Van Village - Khoe Village – Hanoi (B,L)

This morning we trek for a couple of hours passing through several Thai hamlets. We hike Mai Chau valley is surrounded by rice paddies and beautiful scenery. At the small village of Khoe we meet up with our waiting vehicle and drive back towards Mai Chau. Lunch is again provided in Mai Chau and there is also the chance to do a little souvenir shopping before we return to Hanoi. End tour.

Trek Hanoi Mai Chau Village 3 Days


Day 1: Ha Noi - Mai Chau

8:00 AM: You will be met up with Lotussia Travel team at your hotel in Ha Noi. Drive about 2 hours to Hoa Binh. Short stop for break and coffee in Hoa Binh hotel. Drive up to Mai Chau with few stops on the way for taking pictures. 12h00 arrive in Mai Chau where you have lunch in Thai's house. In the afternoon take a 3-hour trek around Mai Chau valley to admire beautiful landscape of the valley. Dinner at a stilt house of Thai minority village. Night in the village.

Day 2: Mai Chau Trekking

Whole day trek. 8:00 AM: Trek to Van Mai village. On the way you can have chance to see ordinary activities of Local people in Thai's area. Lunch in Van Mai. Afternoon trek to Ban Buoc village. You can enjoy beautiful, peaceful scenery along the path. Dinner and overnight in Ban Buoc. This evening you will meet warm hospitable Thai schoolchildren with interesting traditional songs. 

Day 3: Drive back to Hanoi.

Drive back to Hanoi. Upon your arrival back in Hanoi, you will be drop off at your hotel. The end of Lotussia Travel services.

Mai Chau Valley Treks 2 Days


Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau valley (L,D).

You will be met up at your hotel by Lotussia Travel guide and driver. Then depart Hanoi for Hoa Binh province and the town of Mai Chau. This scenic drive takes around three hours and a half. Along the way we pass fields of tapioca and sugar cane as well as rice paddies. Following lunch in a Thai village in Maichau we spend the afternoon hiking through Mai Chau ethnic minority villages in this area. 

After dinner, we will assist to the traditional music and dance show which is performed by The Thai young girls and boys. They all come from this village. Try also some rice alcohol made of traditional plants and local sticky rice. 

We spend the night with a local Thai family.

Day 2: Mai Chau valley – Hanoi (B,L).

After breakfast, we have the opportunity to enjoy one more half day hiking in Mai Chau this area before heading back to Hanoi. We will hike through many different Thai hamlets, rice fields, hill sides…We will stop by some local houses to talk with local people to understand their customs and culture. 

After lunch, we will join our vehicle again for the journey back to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi around late afternoon. End tour.

Sapa Vietnam Adventures Hiking Seomity Ta Trung Ho Thanh Phu Sin Chai Ben Den Lao Cai


Day 1: Sapa- Tram Ton – Sin Chai (L,D)

Met  up  with Lotussia Travel team at  your  hotel  in  Sapa  then  transferred  to the  Silver Waterfall where you will be able to take a hike to the waterfall. 

You will then drive further to Heaven Gate, the highest peak of roads in Vietnam. From there you can see Fansipan, the highest peak  of  Indochina  mountains  as  well  as  enjoy  stunning  views. We  start  descending  nearby  the waterfall. The trail takes you all the way downhill through bamboo forest, which belongs to Hoang Lien National Park

Your lunch will be served at a nice spot nearby a river.

After lunch, you continue  the  trek  to Sin Chai village of Black H’mong minority, where Community Based Tourism  in  Sapa  takes  place.  You will  have  opportunity  to  explore  daily  life  of  one  of  the largest group ethnic minorities in Sapa area. Here you spend the night in local house.

Day 2: Sin Chai – Cat Cat – Y Linh Ho (B,L,D)

After having breakfast, you start heading up the mountain. Once you get to the top, you will trek on a small trail with spectacular view and then gradually descend to Cat Cat village, where you will have lunch nearby a waterfall. 

In the after noon, you take a trail sneaking through mountain. You also will enjoy  spectacular  scenery while walking  along  a  narrow  river  You  eventually  arrive  in  Y  Linh Ho village of Black Hmong minority, where you can take a rest in a nice spot nearby the beautiful river before climbing toward a road, where you return Sapa by car. 

Day 3: Y Linh Ho - Lao Chai – Tavan (B,L,D)

Today we trek Hoang Lien mountain range, which offers you many opportunities to enjoy view over huge rice paddy terraces in Muong Hoa valley, the largest one in the area.

After lunch at a nice spot, you descend into the bottom of the valley. You will pass through Lao Chai village of Black Hmong minority and then Tavan village of Giay minority by following a very popular trekking route.  

You spend the night in a traditional house of Giay minority. You will be able to take a walk to enjoy the valley view as well as swim in the river nearby. 

Day 4: Tavan - Seomity (B,L,D)

After having breakfast, you continue your Sapa village treks, which is mostly uphill until lunchtime. Whenever you stop for a rest, you will be able to enjoy valley view. Before noon, you stop again at a nice spot for lunch.

The Sapa villages trek will be softer in the afternoon. But the scenery becomes even more beautiful. You pass by Seomity  village of Black Hmong minority before  you arrive  in  a  campsite, which  locates  nearby  a river outside the village. While porters put up tents and cook dinner, you can take a walk to stretch the legs. 

Day 5: Seomity – Den Thang - Ta Trung Ho (B,L,D)

The  trek  today  takes you  through beautiful  rice paddies and over old suspension bridges. You will trek on small trail sneaking  through  rainforest. You arrive in Den Thang village of Black Hmong by noon. Here you stop for lunch either nearby a river or in a local school according to the weather.

After lunch, the trek will becomes tough on tinny footpath going up and down, which requires a lot of concentration. 

You will  reach  to Ta Trung Ho village of Red Dao minority where you spend  the night in local house. Both the valley and the village have just received foreign visitors. 

The night will be even more interesting when you are in the wonderful hospitable atmosphere of the Red Dao.

Day 6: Ta Trung Ho - Nam Toong – My Son – Thanh Phu (B,L,D)

You are now at the fringe of the rain forest by the Hoang Lien Son mountain range. Fansipan, the highest peak in Indochina with its 3143 m, is located in this mountain range. You will start the Sapa trek today by ascending to Nam Toong village of Red Dao minority. Here your lunch will be prepared in a local school.

After lunchtime, you descend to the valley where locates My Son village of Xa Pho minority, one of the  smallest  groups  ethnic  in Northern Vietnam. From  there  you  take  a  short walk  to Thanh  Phu village of Tay minority. Here you  spend  the night  in  traditional house of  the Tay. You  can  take a walk to explore local daily life while your dinner will be served with Vietnamese dishes.

Day 7: Thanh Phu - Nam Cum – Sin Chai (B,L,D)

Today’s trek will be relatively short and soft. Once leaving Thanh Phu, you follow the trekking route built in the bottom of the valley, which offers the best view to the surrounding mountains. 

You stop at a nice spot for lunch. 

After lunchtime, you continue your Sapa hike toward Sin Chai village of Red Dao minority where the night will be spent in Red Dao village. 

Day 8: Sin Chai - Nam Ket –Ben Den – Lao Cai (B,L)

You wake up for an early breakfast and repack your luggage for the long trek heading toward Lao Cai.  Once  you  leave  Sin  Chai,  the  adventures trip  takes  you  into  a  fabulously mountainous  area,  the  most remote part of Sapa. En route you meet children’ curious eyes as you are very first tourists passing by. Red Dao ethnic minority inhabits the entire area. 

You will enjoy the fresh of bamboo forest and jungle until you make a stop at Nam Ket for lunch. 

After lunch, your trek will be mostly downhill. After about half an hour, you will have a opportunity to enjoy one of the most beautiful view of days over a green valley lying along the Red River. You eventually arrive in Ta Thang village of Tay minority. Here you will be transferred by car to Lao Cai.
